Program Description:

Connecticut Drug Card is a free prescription assistance program available to everyone living in Connecticut. The program was launched to help the uninsured and underinsured residents of Connecticut gain access to significant savings on prescription medications at their local pharmacies.

The Connecticut Drug Card is working with Connecticut State Medical Society to expand card distribution sites throughout the state. No personal information is required to join the program and there are no enrollment forms, no eligibility requirements, and no restrictions of any kind. The Connecticut Drug Card provides discounts on both brand and generic medication with an average savings around 30%, with some discounts as high as 80%. The card is accepted at CVS/pharmacy, Stop and Shop, Walgreens, A&P, Albertsons Sav-on Pharmacy, Shop Rite, Kmart Pharmacy, Target, as well as over 68,000 participating pharmacies across the country.

Eligibility Requirements:

ndividuals may meet Medicaid eligibility requirements in a number of ways. Individuals or families who meet the income and asset eligibility criteria in effect for Aid To Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) on July 16, 1996 or the State Supplement program are eligible for Medicaid. In addition, individuals who meet all the eligibility requirements, with the exception of income, may be eligible if the amount of medical expenses owed is greater than the amount by which their income exceeds the established income standards.
