must live in West Virginia - must be 18 years of age or younger - must not have health insurance now or had had coverage within the past six months or be eiligible for the West Virginia State Employee Health Insurance - PEIA or Medicaid - the applicant must also live in families meeting WVCHIP Income Guidelines - must be a US citizen or a qualified alien (children who are not U.S. citizens must provide verification of their alien status)

Program Description:
West Virginia Rx Card is the state's free prescription assistance program designed to help the uninsured and underinsured afford otherwise costly medications. The program is available to all residents regardless of age, income, or medical conditions. Those with insurance can also use the program on drugs not covered by their plan.
In order to help spread awareness about the program, West Virginia Rx Card has partnered with the Charleston Area Alliance, the largest regional Chamber of Commerce in West Virginia, as well as numerous hospitals and clinics throughout the state.
The card is pre-activated, with no eligibility requirements, and completely confidential. Savings can be as high as 80% on some medications. Residents can print a free pre-activated card, locate a pharmacy and search drug pricing by visiting www.westvirginiarxcard.com. The program is accepted at CVS/pharmacy, Walgreens, Target, Kmart, Kroger, along with 68,000 other participating pharmacies nationwide.

Program Description:
Medicaid provides medical care in the community or in an institutional setting, such as a nursing home, to individuals who otherwise may not be able to afford the care. A variety of services are provided, according to state and federal guidelines, depending upon the individual or family circumstances.
Golden Mountaineer Discount Card

Eligibility Requirements:
Senior West Virginians age 60 and older are eligible for the Golden Mountaineer Discount Card. Any senior who has not received a new card should call the Bureau of Senior Services at 304-558-3317 or toll-free at 1-877-987-3646.
