- Iowa Priority
The Iowa Prescription Drug Corporation, a not for profit organization, was established in 2001. The corporation's goal was to help ease the financial burden of the high cost of prescription medications for the Medicare eligible Iowan. The corporation made available Iowa Priority, a discount card for Iowa's Medciare population, beginning January 2002. In 2004 a second card called Priority Plus was made available through a contract with Medicare. Both cards helped reduce the cost of prescription medications.
