The Boehringer Ingelheim CARES Foundation Patient Assistance Program for Medicare Beneficiaries makes Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., products available to patients enrolled in Medicare. Patients with Medicare who need help paying for their Boehringer Ingelheim medication, and who meet certain household income levels, may qualify for assistance.

Eligibility:
Patient must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident of the U.S. Patient and physician must submit a completed, signed application along with a prescription for the medication and financial documentation. Patient must meet the required income guidelines, based on the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), which is adjusted annually. Patient is required to have spent at least 3% of the annual household income of prescriptions during the current calendar year. These medications can include medications manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim as well as other pharmaceutical companies. Documentation of out-of-pocket prescription costs is required. An individual may not qualify if they have non-Medicare insurance that covers their prescription drugs, are eligible for Medicaid, are eligible for Medicare's Low Income Subsidies, also known as EXTRA HELP. (In 2011, this is for individuals with incomes limited to $16,335.)
