Eligibility:
Individuals may meet Medicaid eligibility requirements in a number of ways. Individuals or families who meet the income and asset eligibility criteria in effect for Aid To Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) on July 16, 1996 or the State Supplement program are eligible for Medicaid. In addition, individuals who meet all the eligibility requirements, with the exception of income, may be eligible if the amount of medical expenses owed is greater than the amount by which their income exceeds the established income standards.
